Igbo Cultural Organisation Rheinlandpfalz – Hessen e. V. as its name indicates is a cultural Organisation which tends to promote Igbo Culture, Tradition and Language. The Igbo People have their ancestral home in the Eastern part of Nigeria. They are endowed with very rich culture and traditions, some of which this organisation tries to display in its cultural outings. This organisation started informally in the summer of 2001, when some friends decided to organise the Igbo Community in Rheinland-Pfalz and Hessen.

It was later registered with the Amtsgericht Wiesbaden in 2003 under the Registration Number VR3788 as a non-profit organisation. Some of the Aims and Objectives of the organisation as enshrined in our constitution include:
a. To promote the Igbo Culture, Tradition and Language, and the national interest of Nigeria in general by organising and featuring at, cultural events
b. To promote a friendly and harmonious relationship with our hosts, the Germans, in our cultural, social, economic and political interactions
c. To offer legitimate support to our members and extend same to fellow Nigerians, when deemed appropriate by the organisation

d. To work in collaboration with the Nigerian official representatives in Germany and the German authorities in offering advice in matters affecting the social welfare of members living in the Federal republic of Germany

e. To cooperate and work in concert with other Igbo Organisations in Germany and the central Nzuko Umuigbo Germany for the realisation of given objectives. Membership of the organisation is open to anyone interested in the Igbo Culture, traditions and language. Members meet on the last Saturday of every month. There, they interact, discuss cultural issues and also practice drumming and singing.
Attention!!! Our cultural dance troupe, do feature at cultural events, other public and private events, marriage parties and so on. We charge a minimal fee to cover our expenses.
